Located at the northwestern tip of Peninsular Malaysia bordering Thailand, Perlis boasts a wealth of natural, cultural and historical splendours.

At a mere 810 sq km, Perlis might be the smallest state in Malaysia, but it is not without its share of attractions.

State capital Kangar is a compact town where most of its attractions are within easy walking distance from one another. A major landmark in the town is the Masjid Alwi state mosque.

	Kuala Perlis 13km from Kangar, the fishing port of Kuala Perlis is a major departure point for the legendary Pulau Langkawi. The ferry journey from Kuala Perlis to Kuah jetty on Langkawi takes about an hour.

		TASIK MELATI 8km north of Kangar, Tasik Melati is a picturesque lake with more than 150 sandbar islands.

		ARAU 10km east of Kangar, Arau is a royal town famous for the Royal Palace and the nearby Royal Mosque.

		GUA KELAM Gua Kelam at Bukit Kaki, 36km north of Kangar near the Thai border, is a 370-metre long limestone cave. You can walk into the cave by way of a suspension bridge.
